Meet Your Yoga Instructor

Welcome, I'm Victoria Moody, your yoga guide.

With a passion for holistic wellness, I lead practices focused on mindful movement, breath, and meditation. My aim is to make yoga accessible to all, fostering strength, flexibility, and inner peace. Let’s embark on this journey together toward balance and vitality. Namaste.

How I started my practice

Of becoming a yoga instructor.

Wanting to become more than a practitioner, I completed my first 200-hour certification in hot yoga November of 2013, and a second 200 hour certification in Core Strength Vinyasa and Holistic Anatomy in 2016. In 2017 I completed a kids yoga certification in order to share my love for Yoga with my then three-year-old daughter. In 2018, while pregnant with my second child I completed a 300 hour certification in Prana Vinyasa.

My Story

Of my first interaction with yoga.

In Winter of 2005, while studying acting, a college professor said to me “Victoria, you should try Yoga, you seem so tense.” I had no idea what Yoga was, but sure I’ll give it a try, why not?

Weeks later I found myself in a cold, brightly lit gymnasium being led through a series of choreographed movements. “Bend how? Touch what?!” I struggled to contort my body into the shapes the super flexible instructor was demonstrating. I left 15 minutes in while she was in downward dog.

Six years later, I found myself in a hot yoga class, hoping to shed some pounds for my upcoming wedding. The teacher spoke so fast, rattling off alignments I was unfamiliar with and body parts I didn’t know I had! I was intimidated, but I stayed. At the end of the class, a wave of serenity washed over me. The tightness in my shoulders had diminished.

My mind, usually racing with thoughts, quieted. It was pure bliss, a stark contrast to how I was when I came in. I wasn’t quite sure what had just happened, but knew I needed to go back. Week after week, the poses became smoother, and the breathing deeper. My initial awkwardness transformed into a newfound strength and flexibility as my appreciation for the practice evolved.

My yoga practice has been an anchor for me over the years as I have become a wife and mother. Struggling with anxiety, postpartum depression, and my self-esteem. I return to my practice to cultivate peace, to reconnect with who God says I am: Victorious.  And friend, so are you!

Yoga is my Spiritual Anchor

Finding God on the Mat

In my many years of practicing and teaching in studios, I have experienced more than simply the improved physical health and flexibility. My yoga practice has been an anchor for me over the years as I have become a wife and mother. Struggling with anxiety, postpartum depression, and my self-esteem.

Yoga isn’t just about the body; it was a journey inward. I feel God‘s presence on my mat just like I do in the sanctuary on Sunday. In Light on Yoga, by B.K.S Iyengar there is a quote that reads, “Yoga is the true union of our will with the will of God”.

Gospel of the Lord

Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character

Proverbs 31:10-31

10A wife of noble character who can find?
    She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
    and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
    all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
    and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
    bringing her food from afar.

15 She gets up while it is still night;
    she provides food for her family
    and portions for her female servants.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
    out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
    her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
    and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff
    and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
    and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
    for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
    she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
    where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
    and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
    she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
    and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
    and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
    her husband also, and he praises her:
29 “Many women do noble things,
    but you surpass them all.”
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
    but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
    and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
